Sea sports

All Aigialeia is a long beach. In its crystal clear waters you can enjoy the swimming or the sport you love! Diving from Lambiri as the Panagopoula, windsurfing Aliki Aigio (W-SW winds) and in Bouka Kamares, skiing in cosmic beaches.

Most beaches of Aigialeia are ideal for those who want to confront the forces of water and air. The air of the region favors those who want to indulge in kitesurf and wakeboard. Courses are taught by faculty kiteboarding to continue to perfect beaches of Aegio, Aliki and Digeliotika but in Bouka beach.

Finally for the lovers of the natural fishing hobby Aigialeia has many beaches where you can fish.

Sailing

The gaseous currents in the area easily rank it among the most interesting for those involved in the sailing sport.

The Athletic Club of Aegion and the Poseidon Sailing Club are active in the area and are willing to take out the captain that is hidden inside you. So open sails for magical places.

River Trekking

River trekking enthusiasts will find their ultimate “go to” destination in Aegialia, in the waters of Selinountas river.

The river flows from the eastern slopes of Mount Erymanthos with northward direction. Its crossing takes 8 hours and when necessary, hiking continues on the river bank and on the opposite side.

If you want to see the waterfall, follow the river near the Holy Monastery of Taxiarches. A comfortable trail will take you there, to get to the opposite bank. After passing by the village Kounina, you will go downhill to Selinountas river. In less than 2 hours you will get to the gorge of Trano Lagadi and its waterfalls.

Trekking

Follow a 3 to 4-hour route starting a kilometre from the picturesque village of Zarouchla, in the company of the verdant scenery, the altruistic Mt. Helmos and the sun that plays an eternal game of hide-and-seek with the deep shade of the fir, chestnut and walnut trees.

Although some routes are fit for beginners, Trekking Hellas Achaia can take you on a guided tour. Recommended hiking routes:

From Kato Zachlorou to Lake Tsivlou. The length of the route is approximately 15 kilometres and takes about 5 hours.
From Lake Tsivlou to the village of Peristera. The length of the route is 7 kilometres and takes about 2 hours.
From the village of Peristera to Zarouchla, crossing the mountain village of Prophetis Elias. The length of the route is 11.1 kilometres and takes at least 3 hours.

Hikers also love the route in the Vouraikos Gorge, along the course followed by the Cog railway. Downhill hiking takes 6 hours and uphill hiking at least 7.

Rowing

Often, the small water surface of Lake Tsivlos and its friendly waters offer rowing, while being an ideal starting point for those who want to experience this sport.

The lake is not only unmatchable, but with joy from the rowing paddles. The green background, the "protagonist" lake and the dozens of boats make up a familiar scenery that looks like an impressive painting by Clint Monet.

Horse riding

Become modern horsemen, riding horses by the lakes, through the forests. Let yourself go and your imagination free.

The Equestrian Club of Aegio and the Eastern Aegialia Association of Horse Friends “Pegasus” organise excursions and rides on trained horses in the nature.

All you need to do is trust the trainers of the clubs and live a unique experience that will take your breath away, regardless of whether you have an past experience.

Paragliding

The so-called "parapente" is definitely for those who always envied the birds and are looking for the adventure.

The sense of the ultimate freedom, the enchanting images of Aegean above and the guarantee of the experts for a safe activity, are definitely the motivation for the less adventurous to try it. The two-seat flight along with the trainer is ideal for those who are afraid or for those who want to fly and experience the paragliding but can not be trained for an individual windsurf.

The Paraskevi Beach Club, as well as other clubs from all over Greece, often choose the beach of Pounta over the village of Bank for takeoff. The take off of the Holy Trinity, as it is known from the homonymous monastery of the region, is favored by the upward winds of the wind in front of the hillside of the particular area. The sky is filled with color from the sails of the modern Ikarians, who among others admire from above the plateau of Saint Nicholas.
