Places of culture and activity in Aigialeia
The Municipality of Aigialeia has remarkable sites that host cultural activities that contribute decisively to cultural and social life. Conferences, seminars, lectures, creative work programs, lessons are being held in these places, but musical and theatrical performances are also presented by well-known artists and by local cultural associations.
During the summer months, many activities take place in open-air theaters, such as the George Pappas open theater, beaches and scenic squares of the villages of Aigialeia.
The Municipal Art Gallery of Akrata is the only Art Gallery of the Municipality of Aegialia and the spiritual “offspring” and life-time project of Zoe Psarrou. A woman devoted to the highest form of expression, painting, to Art and to her hometown. In her effort to create a cultural hub, Zoe Psarrou not only donated 55 artworks by great Greek artists from her personal collection, but also inspired fellow citizens to make similar gestures, donating many paintings by old and more recent artists... more
