The most important village with its authentic character and selfless presence welcomes you with a shrine 6 meters high. It was built in 1878 and since then, as a vigilant guardian, it proudly holds a large image of the Virgin Mary. Next to it is a fig tree of the same age.
From the shrine and for 300 meters to the village square you will be accompanied by two parallel rows of cypress trees. In its stone-built fountains you will drink water that gushes from a spring located at the foot of Eurostina.
The Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin (or Panagia Vergouvitsiotissa) is located one kilometer northwest of the village and at an altitude of 700 meters. At the place where the historical icon of the Virgin Mary was found, a marble slab has been placed. Worth mentioning is the iconostasis of the temple which is gilded with real gold dust.
If one pays attention in the middle of the mountain and above the church there is a rock with an ancient pine tree standing on top of it, which has the shape of a chair, which is why the locals called it “Seat of the Virgin”.
Also characteristic of the village is the mansion of Rozos, one of the oldest families in the village with a historical course, on the main road.
East of the village you will discover Mavrospilia. A large cave that stood as a refuge for the inhabitants during raids during the Turkish occupation. The story says that it once kept Theodoros Kolokortonis inside it, when he started beating the Zachdoulites who had been armed by Kiamil-bey of Corinth.
