The Municipal Unit of Sympoliteia is located between the municipalities of Aigio and Erineos and ideally combines the blue sea and the green mountain tops. Specifically, in the northern part the agricultural and livestock farming activities are the main occupation of the residents, whereas at the seaside areas tourism and the related activities have developed.
Thus, worth noting are the beaches of the region, such as the exotic beach of Loggos with the blue coloured waters, the crowded beach of Selianitika and the tourist beach of Avythos, which are at a distance of 8km, 7km and 4,4km from Aigio, respectively. The beach of Avythos, actually, is suitable for diving and has beach volley facilities, while at the same spot there is a modern athletic centre, which includes facilities with tennis, basketball and football courts, but also a park with a playground.
At a distance of 10km from Aigio we come across Loggos, a picturesque seaside village, where someone can visit the Folklore Museum of Loggos and learn a lot about the district and the local history. Next to Loggos Selianitika is situated, which is one of the most cosmopolitan areas of western Aigialeia and is at a distance of 1,5km from Neratzies, where fields of raisins, vineyards and olive trees dominate. A little further north the village Myrovrysi stands out with the two beautiful squares, the traditional stone spring with the plane trees and its paved paths.
Other agricultural regions worth visiting are Dimitropoulo with the picturesque square and the stone built primary school of the past, which today operates as a cultural centre, and Lakka with the traditional vineyards, the picturesque square and the stone built houses.
At a small distance away the ”Mansion of Gero-Fotis” is found, which operates as a traditional guesthouse, while in the area an attempt is being made, so that the Museum of Agricultural Heritage can function, which will present exhibits of the local society. It is also worthwhile seeing Saint Konstantinos with its picturesque square, an agricultural district rich in raisins, vineyards and olive trees, as well as Verino with the Monastry of Saint John the Evangelist, which was found in the 14th century.
Furthermore, Eftapita is well-known for the industrial group of hydrokinetics that is available. It is the first sample of industrial progress in Greece, while its space has been renovated and operates as a museum, resulting in the fact that there is the ability for schools of the area to visit. The museum, in which various programmes of environmental education are organized, is located in a space of 70 acres. Thus, students and visitors can occupy themselves with birdwatching and also take drawing lessons.
Close to the Meganitis river, the visitor can follow routes which lead to the villages Grigoris, Paraskevi, Dafnes, as well as to the village Krini with the traditional watermill, from where various mountainous routes begin with destination the towns of Rakita and Mikroni. The region is also connected, through the mountainous rocky roads of Panahaiko, not only with the district of Kalavryta, but also with the Municipality of Erymanthos.
